Ironwood Gold Awards Contract to Commence Drilling at Cobalt Canyon Project

SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- Ironwood Gold Corp. (OTCBB: IROG) (the "Company") is pleased to announce that pursuant to plans to commence exploratory drilling at the Cobalt Canyon property in Nevada, the Company has accepted a bid for drilling services tendered by Quesnel Brothers Diamond Drilling Ltd. Preparations are underway and permitting has been completed in order to drill six initial drill holes totaling 1200 meters on the Cobalt Canyon property located in the Chief mining district of Lincoln County, Nevada about 115 miles northeast of Las Vegas and 5 miles north of the town of Caliente at an altitude of about 6,000 feet. At the Cobalt Canyon property located in the Chief Mining District of Lincoln County, Nevada, gold anomalies have been delineated in several areas using soil geochemistry. This week, Carlin Trend Mining Services begins the survey of a North-South grid on the Haystack gold claims. Dr. Howard Lahti, VP of Exploration for Ironwood Gold and Brian Bond, an independent geologist, will be in the field advising Carlin Trend Services regarding sampling locations and to identify transported surface material where deep penetrating MMI (Mobile Metal Ion) soil sampling will be used.

The field team collected approximately 624 soil samples across a 50m X 100m grid area encompassing Ironwood's claims at the property over a six day period.
